Org de Rac Cabernet is an excellent match for grilled beef, lamb, or juicy pork ribs. It also pairs well with stews in cooler weather and roasted vegetables. Its acidity makes it a good companion for cheese as well.
The grapes for this red blend come from Org de Rac’s oldest vines, which grow on the southern slopes of Piketberg. Old vines produce small yields, resulting in grapes with concentrated, layered flavors. Westerly winds from the Atlantic Ocean ensure a constant flow of cool air through the vineyards, which are planted on ancient shale and granite soils. The grape varieties are harvested at different stages of ripeness to achieve an ideal balance of flavors in the blend. The grapes are carefully selected before fermentation. No added sulphur.
