The Tia Maria Frappé iced coffee cocktail is a delicious refreshment on a hot day, and Tia Maria coffee liqueur gives traditional iced coffee a whole new flavor dimension. Frappé, that Greek iced coffee, originated in 1957 at the Thessaloniki International Fair. At the time, an employee was trying to figure out how he could enjoy his instant coffee during his break when no hot water was available. As a resourceful and coffee-loving man, Dimitris Vakondios eventually decided to mix instant coffee with cold water, add ice, and blend the whole thing in a blender. Voilà! The frappé was born.
In Greece's hot climate, the drink quickly became a hit and remains so to this day. Numerous versions of iced coffee have been created, and the only limit in developing them is your own imagination. The Tia Maria Frappé iced coffee cocktail is mixed with Tia Maria coffee liqueur, enhanced with caramel and chocolate. A sinfully good drink! The velvety smooth flavor of Tia Maria coffee liqueur is achieved with cold-brewed coffee, Madagascar vanilla, and Jamaican rum.
