Wolfberger wines are the nobility of Alsace

Wolfberger's over century-old cooperative is one of France's largest wine producers and the largest in Alsace. It has 450 growers as shareholders, who harvest their grapes from 13,000 plots covering 1,200 hectares. Wolfberger wines represent the full range of Alsace wines, as they include all the region's grape varieties and an impressive selection of Grand Cru vineyards.

Innovation, research, dedicated shareholders, and highly modern equipment ensure high quality whether it's a white wine, red wine, or bottle-fermented sparkling wine, Crémant. Wolfberger's production is thoroughly certified and sustainable development is the company's guiding principle (AgriConfiance®). Some of the wines are certified organic wines or biodynamic wines. Wolfberger Crémant d'Alsace Brut

This versatile sparkling wine works as an aperitif, with fish, white meat, and in the French style even with dessert.

Wolfberger produces all the region's wine types, but the house is especially known for Crémants, sparkling wines made using the bottle fermentation method. Wolfberger was one of the creators of this relatively new designation in 1976. Crémant d'Alsace is often made from Pinot Blanc grapes, but Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Auxerrois, and Chardonnay can also be used as grapes either together or alone.

This enjoyable wine is delicious on its own as a social wine, but also pairs with a huge variety of different foods. Perhaps the best matches with this wine are fish and shellfish dishes as well as Asian cuisine.

The wine's name (W)2 refers to the two classic Alsace grape varieties from which it's made. Riesling gives the wine elegant freshness and crispness, while Pinot Gris brings richness and fullness. The combination is extremely successful.

Wolfberger W3

The mouth-watering acidity makes it a fantastic aperitif. This juicy wine is also an extremely versatile food wine, especially for fish dishes, shellfish, crayfish parties, chicken or turkey, Asian-spiced dishes, soft cheeses, with sauerkraut, or even as a social wine.

This wine's name, (W)3, refers to the three classic Alsace grape varieties from which it's made: Muscat, Pinot Gris, and Riesling. Riesling brings crispness and freshness to the blend, Muscat adds fruity aromatics, and Pinot Gris contributes fullness and richness. The multidimensionality adds to the wine's versatility in addition to its high quality.

Wolfberger Riesling

This truly versatile food wine is at its best with choucroute or onion-bacon pie, but it's also an excellent cheese wine.

Riesling is one of the world's finest white wine grapes, which shows its terroir beautifully and produces long-lived wines. Riesling is the primary image and icon of Alsace wines. Here and from here you must taste Riesling. It rarely disappoints. Often a small pitfall in the wines is residual sugar, which some producers leave in the wine believing in sales in the US market. Wolfberger doesn't do this. Interestingly, wine country France only allows Riesling with permission and appellation in Alsace.
