Château Fontesteau pairs excellently with beef, lamb, and game, as well as hard, mature cheeses
Château Fontesteau 2016 is made from a classic Bordeaux blend: Cabernet Sauvignon (53%) brings backbone, structure, and blackcurrant depth, while Merlot (47%) softens the mouthfeel and adds ripe red fruit to the wine. The alcohol content is moderate at 13.3%, supporting a well-balanced whole. The ageing process is carefully considered: 75% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels and 25% in stainless steel tanks. This combination gives the wine structure, spice, and length without the oak overpowering the fruit. The tannins are abundant yet ripe and smooth.
Brick-red, medium-bodied, tannic, leather notes, dark cherry notes, fig notes, date notes, hint of pencil lead
