Always the same puzzle: we'll be this many people, so how many bottles do we actually need...? It depends quite a bit on who's pouring and what else you're serving—will there be a welcome toast, something with the meal, drinks for mingling... It's best to have a little extra on hand so no one ends up raising an empty glass, even if you don't use it all. It'll keep if it doesn't get finished! Luckily, you can estimate consumption roughly using restaurant serving logic.

Wine bottle
The standard restaurant serving of sparkling wine or other wine is 12 cl. So from a 75 cl bottle, you can expect to get 6-7 glasses.
A versatile sparkling wine is, for example, Parés Baltà Brut b, which makes an excellent toast wine and social wine. One of Finland's most popular organic sparkling wines, it's characterized by the nuance and harmony of organic wine.

Bag-in-box
The most common wine bag-in-box size of 3 liters equals 4 bottles of wine, so it should provide about 24-28 glasses.
Available in bag-in-box is, for example, the perennial favorite Monkey Wine, or La Mirada, which is a fantastic social wine and food companion.

Port and sherry
The serving size for fortified wine (such as sherry or port) is usually smaller, 8 cl. So from one 75 cl bottle, you'll get about 9 glasses.
On the port side, there's the excellent Porto Cruz Tawny, for example. Choose any bistro in France, and you'll almost certainly see this sweet and chocolatey aperitif there.
