Weinhof 519 Pink Riesling was once again Finland's best Pink Riesling in Viinilehti's Rosé Wine of the Year 2022 competition. In the overall competition, it took bronze for the second consecutive year. Congratulations!
Here's how the Viinilehti jury commented on Weinhof 519 Pink Riesling:
“The bronze wine was a fun surprise. When the bottle was revealed, we noticed that the same German wine placed third in our competition last year. This rosé made from Riesling and Pinot Noir also includes a drop of water. That way, the product meets the requirements of Finland’s alcohol legislation, but in Europe it’s treated as a mixed drink.” – Viinilehti 2022

Pink Riesling gets its name from the Riesling grape by adding a touch of Pinot Noir, which gives the wine its pale pink color. Weinhof 519 Pink Riesling was created through collaboration between the Norex wine team and Thorsten Mehrelin from Weinhof 519 vineyards' Rheingau Riesling and Pinot Noir grapes.
In the review, Weinhof 519 Pink Riesling is described as follows:
“A very clean-cut but restrainedly aromatic nose brings to mind apple, peach, ripe redcurrant and raspberry. The palate is almost dry and echoes the aromas from the nose. There’s also sweet spiciness and a touch of florality. Lively citrusy acidity gives the wine structure and carries the whole lightly to a slightly mouth-puckering, yet mouth-watering finish.”
