Twisted Mule

Twisted Mule is a variation of the well-known Moscow Mule cocktail, which is famously served in a copper mug. Moscow Mule contains vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer, but Twisted Mule replaces the vodka with amaretto liqueur and citrus liqueur. The liqueurs add sweetness to the drink, and the citrus liqueur brings out the citrus flavor even more.

The classic Moscow Mule is special because it's served in a copper mug. You can certainly use one for Twisted Mule as well, but it's not essential. What makes a copper mug a particularly good choice over a regular tall glass? Copper conducts heat (or in this case, cold) very well, so the drink stays colder longer. If you're feeling hot, you can pre-chill the mug or glass in the fridge or freezer and add the ingredients to an already cold mug.

Twisted Mule

2 cl amaretto liqueur

2 cl citrus liqueur

2 cl lime juice

Ginger beer

Measure the alcohols and lime juice into a glass over ice. Top with ginger beer to taste and stir gently with a spoon. Garnish with lime and serve. If you think the drink needs a bit of sweetness, add 1 cl simple syrup or 1 tsp sugar and stir again.
