Dittelsheim Riesling is perfect for the classic cuisine, for fish and shellfish.

The carefully selected grapes of this wine grow well in the calcareous soil around Dittelsheim. The vineyards have either a Premier Cru (Erstes Gewächs) or a Grand Cru (Grosses Gewächs) rating. Shell contact before fermentation gives the wine additional dimensions. Alcohol fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts on the surfaces of the grapes and takes place in a steel tank, where the wine is also matured. This wine presents the uniqueness of Dittelsheim in a wonderful way. Succulence meets mineral notes. Enjoy this wine right away, but it is also well suited for years in the cellar.

Dry, very acidic, citrus fruits, herbal, mineral notes

Producer story

Stefan Winter sought experience and understanding through apprenticeships with renowned figures and started practicing his craft as a winemaker at the age of just 20 in the year 2000, continuing his family's vineyard traditions dating back to the 1600s. Weingut Winter's quality revolves around showcasing the distinct characteristics of individual vineyards in classic grape varieties such as Riesling and Pinot, supported by the use of wild yeasts. Precise and meticulous craftsmanship has become Stefan Winter's hallmark. Currently, Winter's winery stands as one of the most esteemed in Rheinhessen. The estate covers a total of 20 hectares, and the grapes used in the estate's wines come exclusively from their own vineyards. The majority of their production is Riesling. Since 2013, the estate has been a member of the prestigious VDP organization (Verband der deutschen Prädikatsweingüter).
