mid-18th century, a beautiful Spanish noblewoman was forced to flee colonial war from her home in Jamaica. In this chaotic situation, the servant of the noblewoman only had time to take her mistress’ jewellery box with her, that contained black pearl earrings and an old, secret liqueur recipe. Later, the young noblewoman married and started a family. She gave the jewellery box with its secret liqueur recipe to her daughter on her wedding day, thus starting a family tradition. In honor of her faithful servant, she also named the secret liqueur recipe Tia Maria. The COFFEE is a blend of several Arabica grades like Blue Mountain and Brazilian. These coffees bring the liqueur intensity, sharpness and freshness. WHITE JAMAICAN RHUM adds structure, fullness and arrack notes. MADAGASCAR VANILLA adds softness, roundness, binds aromas together. Carefully selected coffee beans are roasted and, ground and cane sugar and sugar cane alcohol is added. The mixture is left to aromatise for at least 14 days, to let the ingredients form a well-balanced aromatic ensemble.
