Sushi Galore

Raw fish and vinegared rice with seaweed? Why not! In addition to fish, sushi comes with vegetable fillings, and nigiri has even been spotted with strawberries and kiwis.

Sushi is a light rice dish with a maritime flavor profile, so it pairs especially well with white wine or sparkling wine. And we have plenty of options!

Sushi can be eaten with your fingers or chopsticks, and in addition to being a filling meal, it's handy to serve at gatherings or even picnics. Sushi also exists without rice or seaweed, in which case it's called sashimi. In other words, sashimi is thinly sliced raw fish.

It's customary to serve soy sauce and spicy wasabi with sushi and sashimi. Most of the "wasabi" served with sushi here is actually dyed horseradish, but as a close relative of wasabi, it does the job.

You'll often find ginger slices at the buffet or on the edge of your plate. What are they for? Their purpose is to cleanse your palate of the previous piece of sushi's flavor, so the next one can shine. Feel free to pile a dozen different sushi pieces on your plate and always start with a clean slate!

Excellent wine choices with sushi are white wines that are slightly sweet, considering sushi's maritime flavor landscape. Dry sparkling wines are also specialists when it comes to sushi. We warmly recommend at least the following!

Katse Brut

Sparkling wine has a phenomenal ability to bring a festive feeling. Katse Brut is the bubbliest member of the monkey wine family, gazing at you affectionately from the side of the bottle. Appropriately acidic and cheerfully sparkling, this wine is like it was designed for sushi. The citrusy and very dry sparkling wine gives attention to the sushi while taking care of its own business as an enjoyable food wine.
