Cave de Crouseilles is part of Plaimont and the long winegrowing heritage of Madiran. Winemaker Loïc Dubourdieu grew up among the region’s vineyards and learned the value of meticulous work from his winegrower grandfather. After completing his oenology studies in Bordeaux, Loïc returned to his native region and now oversees the cellars at Crouseilles. For him, Madiran is more than a wine region – it is home and a way of life passed down through generations. The wine comes from old vines grown on Maucor’s finest sun-drenched slopes. Clay-gravel soils covered with rounded river pebbles retain heat and help the Tannat grape achieve optimal ripeness. This distinctive terroir gives the wine power, a silky structure and balancing freshness. The grapes are vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Following fermentation and extended skin contact, the wine is matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, before resting for a further four months in stainless steel.
