Ideal at the dining table, pairing especially well with fish and other seafood, a variety of starters, savory snacks, and pasta.
This Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio) from the village of Bad Dürkheim in Pfalz is an exceptionally powerful example of its style. It has gained additional structure and vinous character from extended aging in used barrels, where the cask itself does not impart strong flavors, but micro-oxidation enhances the wine’s richness. A small amount of residual sugar does not come across as sweetness alongside the wine’s acidity; instead, it adds fullness and makes the wine particularly well suited for food. The wine has been awarded a gold medal.
Golden-yellow, dry, acidic, apricot notes, grapefruity, yellow apple notes, nutty, light oak notes, orange peel notes
