Herdade São Miguel Vinha Jardim is a perfect expression of what we consider an exceptional vineyard site. Vinha Jardim originates from the schist-rich soils of Herdade de São Miguel, specifically from the very first Touriga Franca and Alicante Bouschet vines that my father planted more than 20 years ago. Many people referred to these vineyards as a “garden” because of the meticulous care with which they were tended. Today, these vines produce an intense, fresh, and elegant red wine. It is a testament to the outstanding potential of these grape varieties, which are often underestimated, says Alexandre Relvas.
