A mature Château Maucamps is a wine for slow enjoyment. It is also an excellent partner for meat dishes, especially gently cooked steak. Hard, aged cheeses provide the perfect opportunity to fully appreciate the wine.
At Château Maucamps, the heart of the blend is Cabernet Sauvignon — the symbolic grape of Médoc — drawing its nobility from the clay and gravel soils of the Garonne region. It brings power, structure, and depth to the wine. Merlot adds softness and fruit-driven character, while Petit Verdot contributes spicy nuances and refined aromatics. Each vineyard parcel is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Ageing takes place carefully in around 300 French oak barrels, 25% of them new, allowing the freshness of the fruit to shine through without being overshadowed by the oak.
