Angelo Molinari created the Sambuca liqueur bearing his name in 1945 in Civitavecchi, on the coast of Rome. Angelo was a pro at blending fragrances and flavours, laying the groundwork for a still-secret recipe for this world-famous Sambuca.

Producer story
Angelo Molinari was a bartender and visionary whose career began in his own café-bar in Addis Ababa in the 1930s. After the wars, Angelo returned to his hometown of Civitavecchia and established his company specializing in flavored spirits. Molinari and his Sambuca became famous in the cafés of Rome in the 1950s, thanks to their excellent products and pioneering advertising campaigns. Today, the company's turnover is around €70 million, with distribution in over 85 countries.
