Or Neapolitan song, heart-wrenching. Maybe pop, Pausini or Ramazzotti. Prosecco’s voice could also be the sound of the table, the dining table. The clinking of glasses, the scraping of dishes, eager conversation, laughter, a sigh and a stifled burp. But Prosecco doesn’t have a voice, not really for adults anyway, it’s a happily sparkling Italian wine made from Glera grapes from the Veneto and Friuli-Venezia regions. Trendy and easy to enjoy. Scented with ripe pear, floral. And so often present when song or the sounds of the table are heard. Of course, close to your ear you can hear the hiss of the bubbles. But in my mind, a song plays.

Prosecco has a big sister, pale pink, a real diva

She waited in tanks and bottles in the fall of 2020 for official permission to take the stage. What a show it became, a real Italian gala. Prosecco is a trend, Rosé is a trend, Prosecco Rosé is a megatrend. Pinot Noir, joining Glera on stage, is a real soloist, a big star. Even for a large stage. That’s why Prosecco Rosé is always a vintage wine, Millesimato. Naturalmente! Now the combo gained more structure, elegant berry notes, a tapestry of nuances. Sound, che tono, si!

The festival has begun. Gran festa. Where can you get a drink here? First, I get my hands on Soligo Prosecco Rosé from Treviso. In the aroma rising from my glass, wild berries, tropical fruits, roses, pansies and herbs whisper. The vintage wine is dry, refreshingly acidic, with wild berries and currants. Elegant, yet approachable. Italians are. And in what company do we sing? A quality antipasti is good, but seafood, frutti di mare, even better. Now it hits the right note. I’ll put the bottle on ice, this could be a bit cooler.
